Privacy policy

Collecting less is the only privacy measure that cannot fail, so this site collects very little. Here is exactly what, and exactly why.

What is collected

This site is deliberately light on data collection, because collecting less is the only privacy measure that cannot fail.

  • Analytics: aggregate page views, referrer, approximate country, device type and engagement time, collected through Google Analytics 4. GA4 does not log or store IP addresses, and nothing collected here is used to identify an individual. Measurement runs with advertising storage permanently denied — see the cookies section below for exactly what is and is not stored.
  • Newsletter: your email address, the date you confirmed your subscription, and which emails you opened or clicked. Nothing else.
  • Email you send: whatever is in the message you write to one of the published addresses.
  • Server logs: standard request logs retained by the hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.

What is not collected

No advertising identifiers, no cross-site tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, no session recording, and no advertising network serving ads on these pages. Google Signals and ad-personalisation signals are disabled in the analytics configuration itself. There is no comment system, so no user-generated content is stored.

One third-party script is currently loaded on every page: an ownership-verification snippet from the affiliate network AvantLink, used while an application is being processed. It confirms that this site is controlled by the applicant. It is temporary and will be removed once the application is decided; until then, AvantLink can see that your browser requested it, in the same way any site you visit can. It plays no part in what this site measures.

This site does not sell, rent or share personal data with commercial partners. An advertiser receives aggregate performance reporting — clicks, conversions, traffic-source splits — and never a list of people.

Cookies and local storage

Two items of local storage are used, and neither is transmitted anywhere. One remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme and contains the single word 'light' or 'dark'. The other records your answer to the analytics question below, so you are not asked again on every page.

Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them. Google Analytics runs here under Google Consent Mode with every storage type denied by default, which means that until you accept, it sets no cookie and stores no identifier on your device — it sends an anonymous page count and nothing else. If you accept, it sets its standard measurement cookies so that a returning visit is not counted as a new person.

Advertising storage stays denied whether you accept or decline. Google Signals and ad-personalisation signals are switched off in the configuration, not merely left unused, so no advertising identifier is created here in either case.

You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which removes both stored items and brings the question back.

Affiliate links may set a cookie on the destination site once you click through. That happens on the advertiser's domain under their privacy policy, not this one — which is why every commercial link is marked before you click it.

Your rights

You can ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe from any email in one click, and doing so deletes the address rather than suppressing it.

Requests go to compliance@baominhpro.com and are actioned within 30 days, usually far sooner.

Who processes data on my behalf

Hosting and edge delivery, web analytics, and the email service provider. Each is a named processor under a data-processing agreement, and the current list is provided on request. No processor is authorised to use the data for its own purposes.

Children

This site covers financial and commercial products and is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed to the newsletter, tell me and the record will be deleted immediately.

Data questions and access requests: compliance@baominhpro.com. This policy is a template reflecting standard practice for a small publisher; have it reviewed against your jurisdiction before relying on it.
