- Blocking outside the browser, including in apps, on iOS and on Android TV, which extensions cannot reach
- Self-hosters, who can run AdGuard Home free and open source on their own network without buying anything
Worth knowing first
- Start with the free browser extension — for browser-only blocking it may be all you need, and the paid app is only worth it for system-wide coverage
- The Windows and Mac apps are proprietary; the open-source parts are AdGuard Home, the Linux CLI, the browser extension and the CoreLibs engine
- AdGuard VPN, DNS and Mail are separate products and are not covered by the ad-blocker licence

Two details from the licence page worth knowing before you buy. Payments run through Paddle and PayPro Global rather than AdGuard directly, so that is the name that will appear on your statement. And purchases made in cryptocurrency do not auto-renew — relevant if avoiding a recurring charge is precisely why you were paying that way.
Free, paid and open source are three different lists

AdGuard's own licence page separately cites 20,544 user reviews. That is a vendor-published figure from an unstated source and is not the same measurement as the Trustpilot one, so treat the two as separate numbers rather than corroborating.
How to buy this sensibly
Install the free browser extension first. If it covers what bothers you, stop — you have your answer and it cost nothing.
