This is GreenGeeks' entire market position, so it deserves precision. The company states it matches its energy consumption at 300% through renewable-energy credits purchased via the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, and that it has been recognised by the US Environmental Protection Agency for this commitment since 2009.

What that means in practice: it is an offsetting programme, not a claim that the servers themselves draw renewable power directly from the grid. Those are genuinely different things, and knowing which one you are buying is the point. As offsetting programmes go, a three-to-one match with EPA recognition attached is at the stronger end — and unusually for this industry, it is a claim you can go and verify rather than a badge on a homepage.

GreenGeeks holds a paid Trustpilot subscription — Trustpilot discloses this on the profile, it is common among hosts, and it means the company can invite reviews. Trustpilot also states plainly that it does not fact-check reviews. Neither point makes 4.6 meaningless; both mean it should be read as strong sentiment from a self-selected group rather than as an audited measurement.

Who this actually suits

If you want one site online on a well-tuned LiteSpeed stack, are comfortable committing to a year, and would rather know the renewal price up front than be surprised by it, GreenGeeks is a straightforward choice.
