InterServer

What you actually buy
One standard shared-hosting plan on DirectAdmin with unlimited storage, transfer, email and FTP accounts, weekly backups, CloudLinux and a free Cloudflare CDN.
Good fit if
- People who dislike upsell ladders — there is one shared plan, and everything is included in it
- Multi-site owners: unlimited storage and transfer on a single low-cost account
- Anyone migrating from another host, since free transfer help is included with new accounts
- Sites that depend on email deliverability, which InterServer routes through smart hosts rather than sending straight from the web server
Worth knowing first
- The $2.50 headline covers the first month only. The monthly plan renews at $7, and every longer term renews at the equivalent of $7/month
- The shared plan uses DirectAdmin, not cPanel — several reviews say otherwise. cPanel hosting is sold as a separate product
- 'Unlimited' is governed by acceptable-use limits, as it is everywhere in shared hosting
- Backups are weekly rather than daily, which matters for sites that change every day

Trustpilot · 2,482 reviews
Claimed profile since December 2017. InterServer holds a paid Trustpilot subscription, which Trustpilot discloses on the page.
Read the reviews yourself
Trustpilot states that it does not fact-check reviews. Scores are self-selected sentiment, not audited measurement — read them as a signal, not a verdict.
A correction to what is circulating elsewhere
One plan, and what it renews at
InterServer's structure is unusual and genuinely simpler than most: there is a single standard shared-hosting plan. You are not choosing between Starter, Plus and Business tiers with features held back to push you upward — the feature set is the feature set, and the only decision is how long you prepay.

| Term | Introductory price | Renews at | Effective monthly on renewal |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 month | $2.50 | $7 | $7.00 |
| 6 months | $15 | $42 | $7.00 |
| 12 months | $30 | $84 | $7.00 |
| 24 months | $60 | $168 | $7.00 |
Read that table carefully, because it is the most useful thing on this page. The introductory discount applies once. After it, every term settles at the same $7 per month — the rate does not keep climbing with each renewal, and it does not differ by how long you commit. That is a meaningfully different model from the industry norm of a low first term followed by a much higher standard rate, and it is presumably what the 'price lock' language in circulation is reaching for.

The DirectAdmin detail people get wrong
Two things InterServer does that most hosts do not
Email is routed through smart hosts rather than being sent directly from the web hosting server, with outgoing messages scrubbed for spam. That sounds like a technical footnote and is actually one of the more practical differences in shared hosting: it protects deliverability from being wrecked by another customer on the same machine.
The second is Inter-Insurance, which covers cleaning, restoring and hardening accounts that have been compromised, including during migration. For anyone moving a WordPress site with an unknown history, that is a genuinely useful thing to have included rather than quoted for after the fact.
What customers say
InterServer holds 4.3 out of 5 on Trustpilot across 2,482 reviews, read on 11 August 2026. Trustpilot's summary of recent reviews points repeatedly at the same thing: the support team. Prompt, patient and knowledgeable are the words that recur, and several of the most recent reviews name individual technicians.
As with any host on Trustpilot, read it with context. InterServer's profile is claimed and carries a paid Trustpilot subscription, which Trustpilot discloses on the page, and Trustpilot states that it does not fact-check reviews. The volume — nearly 2,500 — makes the signal more reliable than a handful of entries would, but it remains self-selected sentiment rather than measurement.
Who this actually suits
InterServer fits people who want predictable costs and dislike being managed up a pricing ladder. At $7 a month settled, with unlimited storage and transfer, free migration and email routed properly, it is a sensible home for several small sites on one account. The things that would send you elsewhere are specific: if you need daily rather than weekly backups, or if your tooling assumes cPanel, this particular plan is not the right shape.

Changelog
Every change to this page since it was first published, including anything that turned out to be wrong. Corrections are recorded here, never made silently.
First published, replacing an earlier unverified listing. InterServer blocks automated access, so the plan page was opened in a browser. This resolved two errors repeated widely elsewhere: the $2.50 rate is not locked permanently (the vendor states $7/month on renewal), and the shared plan runs DirectAdmin rather than cPanel.
